Dandeli
Dandeli, This time around it was Dandeli, for our yearly december holiday. Its a place close to Karwar & Goa, its in Karnataka (Uttar Karnataka). its around 500-600 km from mumbai / bangalore. Its a decent place, with loads of fun things to do, like trekking / safari / and my favorite water rafting, Dandeli has level 2 & level 3 rapids. Couldn't take any pics of it for obvious reasons.
man !! that was fun. though, for our bad luck, the water current wasnt that strong, so the level 3 rapids had become level 2. but till none the less, it was good fun. The forest treks & the off road 4x4 safaris were fun too. The only dampener on all of this was, the absolute lack of wild animals in the forest. Even though the forest was so thick, they were no animals at all. all we could find was the common langur & just a bunch of deers. :(
Dandeli is close to a town called "Alnavar", which is connected by road & trains from Bangalore / Hyderabad & Mumbai.
Kavala Caves, Limestone caverns, one needs to crouch in there and go, its pitch dark inside.
The sunset here was beautiful, This was amidst the forest on an abandoned mine
Doodhsagar falls, u can see the railway line towards Goa when u stand at the edge of this cliff
Common Langoor, only animal we spotted :(
Sunrise, Was beautiful, Far away from all the madening traffic / pollution, fresh air in my lungs.
Our steed, a solid 4x4 with even more solid guide (not in the pic) who drove real good. wish I could drive it around the rocky terrain.
Our path thru the thick vegetation.
Sunrise Again.
