Talakkad

This is another place we visited during our weekend trip.. its very close to sivasamudra.. a brief history about this place : Talakkad is a town known for its sand dunes, located near Mysore in Karnataka. A historic site, Talakkad once had over 30 temples. It stands at a sharp bend of the Kaveri river eastwards from a southerly course. Sand dunes are formed here persistently, extending over a mile, burying a large number of monuments. Talakkad houses the imposing temple to Vaidyeshwara - Shiva.

SivaSamudra part1

My next update. This is a place called "siva-samudra", its on the river "cauvery" . This is in Karnataka (123 kms from Bangalore) A few pals n myself had been there on the 19th & 20th of august 2006.. We were lucky to see the river in all its might, due to the surplus of rains.
