Lavasa : An ambitious & interesting plan

Finally a trip after so long. Had not been anywhere this year. This place I went to this time was, Lavasa. Its around 200km from Mumbai, and around 65km from Pune. After Pune, a small patch of plains and then its Ghats. Again the rains bring beauty to these hills,its like as if one were in this place far away from pollution & maddening traffic and crowd. Amazing fresh feel.

Lavasa, is a very ambitious and an interesting project. They aim to create a city among the hills, which would be self-sustaining & a "green city". Its spread over 25000 acres. of which 12500 acres is used to build the city. They would have hotels / hospitals / residences / commerical offices/ schools / colleges / shops etc etc, basically a city by itself. The part of Lavasa I went to is called "Dasve", this is the first phase of the whole project thats being developed & allowed for tourism and for sale of houses. Its a wonderful place and worth a visit.
